FAQ

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Cryosauna is an upright, step-in chamber that releases nitrogen to decrease skin surface temperatures to approximately 32 degrees F. This is achieved in 30 seconds or less and remains nearly constant for the duration of the session, which lasts up to 3 minutes. Skin receptors immediately sense the cold and send brain signals to promote regulatory functions of the body, thus triggering the release of calming endorphins into the bloodstream.

IS NITROGEN GAS HARMFUL TO HUMANS?

No. Nitrogen gas is non-toxic. In fact, the air we breathe, is 78% Nitrogen.

IS IT UNCOMFORTABLE?

Clients are instructed on proper attire, if necessary, prior to treatment. The one thing always required are dry socks. As only the head is visible, privacy is always maintained. Although the cold is intense, the air is dry and doesn’t leave the skin wet. It is well-tolerated by those who are not tolerant of the cold.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER A SESSION?

Due to the endorphins that are released into the bloodstream during treatment, the body is relaxed as toxins are flushed away. This process is what creates a feel good, energetic mood for clients which lasts up to 8 hours. Most clients say they have the best night of sleep after a Cryo session.

CAN I GET A COLD FROM THIS TREATMENT?

The body’s immediate response to the cold therapy will be to raise the body’s temperature a few degrees for a brief time. However, effect of overall stimulation to the immune system can help decrease the severity as well as frequency of future colds.

CAN I USE WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY IF I’M CLAUSTROPHOBIC?

Absolutely! Your entire head is exposed, the door cannot be locked, and a staff member is present throughout the entire process.

MUST I SHOWER BEFORE OR AFTER THE SESSION?

No. The entire procedure is dry. Many people come on their lunch break since the treatment is 3 minutes or less. Most all-specific scheduling requests can be accommodated.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS CAN I GET IN ONE DAY?

A person can receive 1 treatments a day, with at least 4 hours between each session. 5 consecutive daily to every other day sessions are recommended to establish the body’s baseline and have lasting beneficial effects although most people are energized immediately after their initial treatment.
